The EC units can be placed in natural or irrigation flows. Examples include farmland irrigation systems, natural streams along with waste water flows from meat packing facilities, poultry processing and other plants.

Internal Hydro has surveyed agricultural sites where vented steam and waste water leaving the facility could be used to generate significant amounts of electricity.
